The week’s content on the idea of inclusion in education is something I found really interesting. Shelly Moore explained the concept and development of the idea of inclusion and how can it bring education forward. Similar to the evolution of bringing marginalized children to school, engaging in my PLN can follow this pattern of including diverse thoughts and opinions towards a matter or discussion. While I may be passively hearing about these voices when engaging in the network, actively embracing diversity or inclusion could lead to interesting findings. For the ‘wonder’ of this week, does the idea of segregation conflict with the establishment of special needs schools in the public? If these schools do indeed bring benefits to children with disabilities or diverse abilities, does this mean ‘segregation’ with scientific evidence or efforts may not be a bad thing?
